Spong's original background is catering related, namely chef, catering teacher. She started out as a business class chef at Schiphol and is currently a full-time food and beverage manager. She is multi-talented, an innate gift that she says she received from God. She hopes to contribute to positively encouraging others. “It is important to realize and be proud of what you can do, what you have achieved and that you can convey this.â€
In May 1997, Spong started her design agency SPONG Lyrics & Rhymes, better known as Spong Design. She designs websites, but also family and business printing such as greeting cards for every occasion. All greeting card texts are written by Spong himself or translated into Sranan. Her career in the media world started in 1999 as a DJ and program maker for Radio Faya Lobi Amsterdam. Five years later she started her own radio station Club-ParadiseFM. In November 2004 she won the Best Newcomer Radio award with the station. In 2017 she quit the channel due to other work. She performed various editorial work in the cross-media scene. She wrote entertainment articles for Powerlady Magazine of the Netherlands and NewzGierig! Magazine of Suriname. Spong was also a Caribbean music composer at Radio 5 of the Dutch Public Broadcasting Service from 2008 to 2010.
